My 25+ years of work in education and interdisciplinary professional development at the intersection of leadership, developmental psychology, neurosciences, mindfulness, communication and family law, taught me one thing: that PARENTS ARE LEADERS.
Leadership is hugely misplaced in our culture, and we associate leadership with the corporate world. In reality, leadership starts at home with us, the parents, leading our families.
In this conversation, Ioana Jongsma, Founder & Producer of In Coaching Podcast, and I aim to inspire parents to believe in themselves a little more, and get more educated if needed.
Ioana is a force of nature and a woman you MUST follow on all her platforms. She is:
* a TED Talks executive coach;
* Public Speaking expert;
* Gestalt Professional Certified Coach;
* Managing Director – Nordics at NeuroMindfulness® Institute;
* a rare human being.
Please listen and share it with your friends, family members and co- workers. My gratitude also goes to NeuroMindfulness® Institute (NMI) for their vision for a better world, and for bringing us together. This episode is produced in partnership with NMI.

**** OTHER UPDATES FROM MIHAELA****
You may have noticed that I went quiet the last few weeks, with much less content published on social media and less frequent newsletters. This is a conscious decision on my part. Our digital spaces are being filled with excessive “noise” due to AI- generated content, while the economic and political unrest all over the world is impacting everyone’s psychological safety. Please reach out to me or a professional in your local community if you need help.
If you want to wish me Happy Birthday, please donate to my PhD fund: click here.
This fund helps me travel to conferences to present my research and buy expensive textbooks 🙂
*** BOOKS I LOVED IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS***
The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog, by Bruce Perry, MD, PhD & Maia Szalavitz ( about childhood severe trauma)
Principles, by Ray Dalio ( about life and business principles)
Four Thousand Weeks; Time Management for Mortals, by Oliver Burkeman ( about how we waste our lives)
I Will Teach You to Be Rich, by Ramit Sethi ( about building personal wealth)
The Psychology of Money, by Morgan Housel ( title is self – explanatory)
Relationship- Rich Education, by Peter Felten, PhD and Leo M. Lambert, PhD ( about teaching in higher education)
In closing, I want to remind all of us that children do what we do, not what we say we do. They are copying and internalizing our “doing”, not our talking. Let’s lead the way by modeling good moral principles, taking accountability, prioritizing our attention onto them, and minimizing distractions (almost everything is a distraction). Attention is the real currency these days. Protect it wisely.
