Dear Woman, Please Wake Up! – part 1

This article is for WOMEN, but if you are a man, keep reading so you can better support your female partners, daughters, sisters, and women-friends.

In the past few years, I’ve had the privilege to work with and meet amazing women, from clients, to friends, to audiences.
Here’s what I concluded after a long reflection on women, myself included:

Selling ourselves cheap ends up being expensive.

  • You know those situations when you want to help, or be nice to someone, or worse, you like someone? You end up “making compromises”, one today, another one tomorrow… You become super-empathetic, so much so you start doubting yourself about being unrealistic or having too high standards? OK, I know you know. You’ve been there. What ends up happening is this: eventually, we pay the price, in wasted time, emotional hurt, heart break, recovery time, lost self-esteem and sometimes loss of actual money.

We operate from a double-standard, never in our favor.

  • We admire other women, but not ourselves. We compliment other women, we give them credit for their work and achievements, but when it comes to our own person, we minimize, criticize, and invalidate, often even despise. Of course, this is the result of women being mistreated, suppressed and shamed for millenia. The topic is more complex than you and me. It goes beyond our generation, and our mothers’ mothers’ generation. However, YOU and ME need to learn the skills of self-worth and confidence. We must learn to feel good enough in our skin to promote our work, even when it’s imperfect and unfinished; to face criticism, even rejection; to self-promote; to feel as good as __________ (fill in the blanks with the name of the person you admire).
  • I want to emphasize that I came to realize that self-worth and confidence are skills, not qualities. They must be cultivated with intention. Self-worth is not a given for most women, and therefore must be learned. Whatever you need to do, start today: therapy, support groups, books, podcasts, get a coach, whatever it takes.

We don’t know our body.

  • Most women have no idea how their endocrine system works before and after 35 years of age; hormonal health; circadian rhythm versus infradian rhythm; nutrition; sleep; exercise; supplements; and biohacking. Again, this is not our fault, at least not 100%. The school systems, mass media, and the higher powers don’t want us to know how we can optimize our biology. However, we have no excuse for ignorance anymore. The internet democratised information. Self-education is 100% possible and available. If you don’t know where to start on this topic:

– read Alisa Vitti’s books (WomanCode & In the Flo);
– read Dr. Mindy Pelz’s books (Fast Like a Girl & The Menopause Reset);
– read Dr. Sara Gottfried’s book (Women, Food and Hormones);
– watch Dr. Marie Claire Haver on YouTube and Instagram. Her new book is coming out in April. I can’t wait.

Odds are not in favor of women in contemporary society, unfortunately. Most countries or cultures are not set up for women and mothers to succeed and be well. Sad but true. And yet, we can do A LOT more today than what our mothers could because we have access to technology and information. I hope you take one small step today towards optimizing your biology and your divine potential.

My mission is to help moms, women and girls shine.  Here’s what a woman client said about me:

“The Human Compass – this is how I would best describe my journey with Mihaela. One leg firmly rooted within myself, the other extending outside myself, shaping my reality with a sense of agency – essentially becoming my own life architect. My decision to start therapy with Mihaela was fueled by two primary factors: an overwhelming anxiety stemming from a demanding job and a persistent sense of emptiness due to the absence of a romantic relationship. These 2 themes played a central role throughout the course of my life and thus, I’ve experienced previous attempts with other therapists and methods like cognitive behavioral therapy, coaching, and psychoanalysis yet I’ve found myself stuck again in the same old patterns.
With Mihaela, we ‘ve not only identified root problems but also engaged in practices and exercises, which helped me redirect my focus from toxic mindsets to the creation of new, empowering realities.
Mihaela listens to understand, having no trace of judgement whatsoever which allows me to feel safe. She also holds a strong capacity of synthesizing large amounts of information and do a ‘’screenshot’’ of the issue.  Following this 1st initial step of raising awareness and understanding, I am guided by her to do practical work, using pen and paper to articulate ideas, explore feelings, assess needs versus reality, and align my will accordingly.
The sessions with Mihaela empower me, revealing that all the resources I require – love, care, will, and more – exist within myself. Being fully aware of this sets me free from the mindset to outsource these fundamental needs towards other people.” (female, 38 years old)
