• Fathers are important. 
• Fathers are needed.
• Fathers offer protection from the “scary big world”. 
• Fathers are the source of confidence for little girls and boys. 
• Fathers push the limits so a child can feel limitless (when used correctly in play, with full attunement). 

When fathers are absent, children grow up without a sense of direction or security. 
When fathers are indifferent, children grow up insecure, “needy”, and unable to make decisions, always seeking external validation. 
When fathers are abusive, children grow up disoriented, disconnected from the Self and end up choosing abusing partners.
