It’s Mother’s Day here in the United States—May 10th, 2026—and I want to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day from Parenting Made Conscious and from myself.
But I’ll be honest: I was very reluctant to write this message this year.
The Uncomfortable Truth About Mother’s Day in America
I think Mother’s Day, as we celebrate it in the United States, is a dishonoring disgrace to motherhood.
Let me explain why.
We Are the Only One
We are the only advanced, economically wealthy society in the world where there is no paid maternal leave.
Read that again. Let it sink in.
The wealthiest country in the world offers mothers nothing—no paid time to recover from childbirth, no paid time to bond with their newborns, no recognition that the work of bringing a new life into the world deserves support.
My Story
I remember when I became a mom. I had to take time from work with no pay—only eight weeks of unpaid medical leave. Then I had to hire a full-time nanny just to return to work and keep my job.
This was my reality. This is still the reality for millions of American mothers.
And nothing has changed in the last 15, 20, 30 years.
The Flowers and Cards Ring Hollow
So when Mother’s Day comes around each year, and we receive flowers, cards, and breakfast in bed, it feels hollow when set against this backdrop.
We honor mothers one day a year with gestures and gifts, while systematically failing to support them the other 364 days.
We celebrate motherhood in words while abandoning mothers in policy.
This is why I was reluctant to add my voice to the chorus of “Happy Mother’s Day” messages. Because until we fundamentally change how we support mothers in this country, the celebration feels incomplete—even dishonest.
But Here’s What We Can Do
Despite this systemic failure, despite the lack of institutional support, there is something powerful we can do:
We can come together.
Finding Your Tribe
My message to all moms today on Mother’s Day is this: We have to come together in a tribe. We all have to find our community, our support system.
I know it feels like an almost impossible task. When you’re exhausted, isolated, and barely keeping your head above water, the idea of “finding your tribe” can feel like one more thing on an endless to-do list.
But I promise you: it’s essential, not optional.
My Gift to You
Here’s my offer to every mother reading this, even if you’re not my client and have never worked with me:
Free Summer Support for US Moms
For the summer months of 2026—May, June, July, and August—I am granting free access to my weekly group coaching calls to all mothers in the United States.
Details:
- Every Wednesday
- 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
- A safe space to connect, share, and support each other
- Find your tribe and build your support system
This is my gift to you. Because you need community. Because isolation is one of the greatest threats to maternal mental health. Because no mother should have to do this alone.
We’re All In This Together
Please know: You are not alone.
Even when it feels like you are. Even when you’re up at 3 AM with a crying baby and no support. Even when you’re juggling work and motherhood with no help and no recognition.
We are all here in this together.
Different Ways to Connect
If you live in South Florida: We have a community of moms who meet in person. Real faces, real conversations, real support.
If you’re anywhere around the world: I host a Women’s Circle on Zoom once a month. A virtual tribe for mothers who need connection beyond their zip code.
If you’re a US mom: Join the free weekly coaching calls this summer. Show up when you can. Take what you need. Give what you have to offer.
The Power of Mother-to-Mother Support
The system may have failed us, but we won’t fail each other.
When institutions don’t support us, we create our own support networks. When policy abandons us, we show up for one another. When the culture celebrates us one day a year but ignores us the rest, we build communities that see us, value us, and hold us up every single day.
This is not how it should be. We deserve better. Mothers deserve paid leave, affordable childcare, workplace flexibility, and societal recognition of the essential work we do.
But until that day comes—and we must keep fighting for that day—we have each other.
How I Can Support You
Leave a comment below. Send me a DM. Tell me how I can support you.

Happy Mother’s Day
So yes, Happy Mother’s Day.
But not the hollow, Hallmark version that ignores the reality of what American mothers face.
Instead, I wish you a Mother’s Day where you feel:
- Seen in your struggles
- Supported in your journey
- Connected to other mothers who understand
- Empowered to demand better—for yourself and for all mothers
You are doing essential, sacred, exhausting, beautiful, impossible work.
You deserve more than one day of recognition.
You deserve a society that supports you.
And until we have that, you deserve a tribe that sees you, holds you, and reminds you:
You are not alone. We are here. We’ve got you.
